Yerba Mate is a popular herbal beverage from South America. It is a traditional drink with a long history, including use by the gauchos (cowboys) of Argentina. Although it is herbal, it does contain caffeine.
For many many years the indigenous people in South America harvested and drank this herbal concoction. They found it kept them alert. This tradition was passed down to the Gaucho cowboys later on. Now, we are finding Yerba Maté to be enjoyable and useful.
