tasty without much heat Oct 26, 2011
By lady truth Delicious like the the hotter variety. You really taste the spices and the onion and the garlic but not overpowering. It's delicious with a liquid consistency mixed with the other ingredients. This should not "hurt" those who are sensitive to extra spice. It's not salty like some sauces. It's worth a try in my opinion.
Just Perfect for Full Flavor and a Pleasant Burn May 19, 2010
By Mountain Kitty I have been using Trinidad Traders hot sauce for over 10 years. I absolutely adore it.
During the latter 1990s Trinidad Traders won multiple awards for their hot sauce, and boy were the awards well deserved! The flavor is frankly one of the best I've ever encountered anywhere, by any brand, and in any strength (level of hotness).
It comes in 4 different strengths - mild, medium, hot and very hot. The flavor is superb. The blend of habanero peppers (some of the hottest, yet edible peppers), herbs and spices, give it a truly full bodied and somewhat unique flavor. It goes extremely well on just about anything; from a grilled chicken breast or steak, to scrambled eggs, cheese sticks, 'ethnic' foods, or ... you name it. I have yet to
find a food item, it doesn't either enhance or improve in some way. (Chocolate pudding might .... might.... be an exception LOL)
Having been a great fan of using hot sauce for years, I've noticed an unfortunate trend, namely, "the hotter the better". Somehow eating hot sauces which were uncomfortably hot became a badge of courage; an indication that you were somehow a "true" aficionado, not just a "wimp" or casual user. (My dear friends used a hot sauce once that was so 'lethal', that 2-3 drops ruined an entire pot of food they were cooking. No joke!)
Many hot sauces have become so darn hot that your mouth is on fire, and you can taste neither the food, nor the real flavor of the hot sauce. Perhaps that's the point, many of these new hot sauce competitors are unable to create something that actually tastes good, so they increase the heat to get by.
Unfortunately as I've gotten older, my tummy isn't too pleased with super hot foods anymore. (I suspect I am not the only one who has that problem :-). So I began searching for something with a pleasant "bite", but with the added the punch of great flavor - and I found Trinidad Trader's Habanero Hot Sauce. The flavor is so pleasant and unique, you'd be hard pressed to find a similar sauce in another
brand.
Surprisingly, both the mild and medium even have a nice bite to them. You get the pleasure of being able to use a few drops on your food for the flavor, without overwhelming it with "heat".
The company that makes this sauce is a located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. I actually spoke with one of the owners and/or executives on a two occasions, quite a few years ago. What a delightful person she was. This little company seems to do little if any advertising or self-promotion, which is unfortunate. They also have no real "presence" on the Internet. I think this has resulted in their wonderful product(s) being virtually unknown in the marketplace, which is now drowning in far less worthy competitors.
Please consider trying this brand. I believe you won't be disappointed. Remember habanero peppers are very hot, and order accordingly. I've provided this review out of real love for the product. I have no relation or affiliation to the company or people who make it. I hope you will try it and enjoy it too! Thank you for your time in reading this. :-)
